Coffee
Diana showed up at 7:00 AM and brought some coffee (said with my best Long Island accent) We had a great visit and she helped me get the car packed up and make sure my battery wasn't dead as we pulled out of town. I have the greatest memories of summers with the Daytz Family.
and a FYI to my girls weekend sisters . . . I ask Andrea's daughter Emily where the ironing board is and she replies that they don't have an ironing board? hmmmmm I'm thinking this may be a little difficult to iron my favorite white shirt without an ironing board but not feeling completely defeated. I set up a towel on the floor and ask Emily to get me the iron and she goes up to the bathroom and brings me down a hair flattening iron?? Emily I want to iron my shirt not straighten my hair. Oh she tells me " My mother has never touched an iron in her life if she needs the wrinkles out she brings it to the dry cleaners" Here I am shocked but not completely shocked . . . She works on Madison Ave in the garment district doesn't she need a wrinkle taken out from time to time? I call Andy at work, in disbelief only to have her confirm that she has never touched an iron in her life? another question mark just seems appropriate here??
I'm still laughing from the straightening iron and start digging through her linnen closet. I found a box wrapped up still in wedding paper addressed to Mike & Andrea . . . tore it open and plugged in the iron. I love the fact that Andrea has never ironed in her life but I did check to see if the oven actually worked before I left her house today. ;-)
