We stopped by and visited my sweet grandmother who just celebrated her 99th birthday. We brought her some chocolates and a strawberry milkshake but we found her very confused today. Her thoughts were clear but she wasn't able to remember who I was and it so frustrated her. I told her not to worry about it and I introduced myself and Cole & Jacquelyn as if we were strangers who just stopped by for a visit. When I was home in May she seemed to know who I was but her vocabulary wasn't very good and she continued to mix up her words. This time her words were clear but not her memories. Last year when we were home she remembered Cole and Jacquelyn and the nurses said she talks about them often. The visit was difficult because we could see how frustrated she was trying to remember us, but then Jacquelyn took out her knitting and showed it to her and finally we saw her smile. After showing her the knitting, Jacquelyn handed her a teddy bear and she seemed so pleased and held on to it for the rest of the visit.
